Tesla to Boost Vehicle Costs by Approximately 3 Percent on Typical Worldwide

Electric carmaker Tesla said on Sunday it will raise prices of its luxury vehicles by about 3 percent on average because it plans to maintain more retail stores open than intended. The carmaker said potential buyers can place orders until March 18 in the old rates. Tesla stated the stores will carry fewer cars in inventory for clients who wish to drive away with a Tesla immediately. Cost savings from store closing will probably be just about half the anticipated amount as the firm is going to close just half the range of shops planned, it stated. The move comes after Tesla said last month it was shifting all sales on the internet to help lower prices by about 6 percent on average, allowing it to achieve the 35,000 Model 3 price point earlier than expected. The carmaker said a few stores in high-visibility places that were closed due to low throughput will be reopened with a smaller Tesla crew.
