EU invests 75 million euros in improving the safety of Ukrainian roads

Ukraine has agreed with the European Investment Bank (EIB) to attract major "investments". The amount in question is 75 million euros. Immediately specify that "investment" means the allocation of a loan. The agreed amount will be used to achieve the goals set in the project "Improving road safety in the cities of Ukraine."

It should be noted that the project itself is designed for six Ukrainian cities: Lviv, Odessa, Dnipro, Kharkov, Kiev, Kamenets-Podolsky. It provides for a number of activities aimed at solving systemic infrastructure problems and general improvement of safety on Ukrainian roads.

As usual, the press release on the website of the CMU does not contain any specifics. There are no details of what exactly is planned to be done within the project, and for how long it is calculated. In addition, neither the maturity of the loan nor the interest rate on it is reported.

"Having a death rate in an accident is three times higher than in the EU, it is very important to improve our transport infrastructure. This is helped by investments in road safety and other projects, such as the continuation of construction and modernization of the Kharkiv metro with the support of European financial institutions. "
