In Belarus, they will collect Chinese electric cars Zotye E200EV and Z500EV with a power reserve of up to 250 km and price tags $ 17 thousand and $ 22 thousand respectively

Last summer in Belarus, the first Belarusian electric car on the basis of the Chinese sedan Geely SC7, which plans to assemble at the facilities of the local BelJ plant. However, our neighbors do not intend to complete this cooperation with China, and at the beginning of this month presented two budget Chinese electric cars Zotye E200EV and Zotye Z500EV, designed for local large-bodied assembly at the Unison plant.

The compact city car Zotye E200EV is made in stylistics of the Smart model, but at the same time it has quite an original appearance that does not allow to call it a complete clone of the popular model. The double electric car with a small luggage compartment is equipped with an electric motor with a capacity of 60 kW (82 hp) and is gaining 120 km / h. The battery capacity of 24.5 kWh according to the manufacturer is enough for 220 km of run.

In turn, the electric sedan Zotye Z500EV is a full-fledged D-class car and easily accommodates five people. It was equipped with a more powerful 95 kW engine (129 hp), which can accelerate to 100 km / h in 10 seconds and gain 140 km / h, after which the electronic speed limit is activated. The manufacturer declares a power reserve of 250 km, but does not name the capacity of the installed batteries, which should be higher than that of the Zotye E200EV, taking into account the greater mass of the sedan.

The Belarusian company does not yet name the final cost of electric vehicles, negotiations on obtaining state support in the framework of the program for the development of electric transport. If support is approved, then the city-car Zotye E200EV will receive the price tag at $ 17 thousand, and the Zotye Z500EV sedan – at $ 22 thousand. The start of sales of Zotye electric vehicles is scheduled for May of this year, besides the local market Belarusians are going to supply these models and to the Russian market.

It should be noted that the production facilities of the Belarusian plant "Unison" allow it to produce up to 25 thousand cars a year. In 2014, the company signed a cooperation agreement with General Motors, within the framework of which it received an investment of $ 2 million. Immediately after that, the plant mastered the assembly of the Opel Mokka, Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade models, and a little later co-operated with the Groupe PSA, Peugeot 301, 508, 3008, Partner and Citroen C-Elysee, Berlingo, DS4.

It should be reminded that last autumn the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko tested the electric vehicle Tesla Model S and instructed the developers of the first Belarusian electric vehicle to equal its level.
