The small Croatian electric car manufacturer Rimac continues to gain weight among more large companies. After the purchase of a minority stake in Porsche, the production of the electric hypermark Rimac C_Two and the announcement of the joint work on the future models of Pininfarina, it became known that this manufacturer also made a hand in the creation of the Seat Cupra e-Racer racing hatchback.
Recall that this model is based on the racing model Seat Cupra Leon TCR, which is used in the FIA World Touring Car Cup and other bodybuilding championships. In 2018, the Cupra TCR will debut in the Touring Championship, in its turn the Cupra e-Racer is designed specifically for participation in the new racing category E TCR.
As a technical partner, Rimac confirmed the final characteristics of the Cupra e-Racer electric car, and for the first time brought it to the racing track for testing in conditions close to racing.
As expected, the Cupra e-Racer received four electric motors which produce 300 kW (402 hp) in constant mode but are capable of short-term peak power in 500 kW (680 hp). The maximum speed of the car is at 270 km / h, while the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes only 3.2 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km / h – 8.2 seconds.
Recall that investment with the Porsche side will help the German automaker accelerate the development of its own electric vehicles, the production of which starts from the Porsche Taycan model.
